Jessica L. Sparrow
Writer of Fiction, Poetry, and Non-Fiction
Jessica L. Sparrow received her MFA in creative writing, in July of 2020 from SNHU. Her graduate thesis became the first novel she’d ever written and is now a completed MS (pending publishing) in the hands of her agent, Mariah Stovall of Trellis Literary Management.
The novel, The Amber Within (title pending), is a 19th-century Gothic thriller brimming with influences from her Puerto Rican bruja (witch) roots.
Sparrow’s writing is heavily influenced by 19th-century literature, the supernatural, and her Puerto Rican heritage.
Her favorite past times are curling up with Gothic writers Poe, Morrison, or Moreno-Garcia. When not reading, she’s usually in the kitchen cooking up some delicious spells or binge-watching horror movies with her fur baby, Yoshi, and her husband Jason.
